About Us

In our group we aim to create new materials that contribute to the environment, energy, medicine, information technologies, as well as to invent innovative measurement methods to visualize their functions. Our interest is related to nanometric functional materials, especially in the field of nanophotonics and plasmonic materials, where the electromagnetic field is spatially confined. Applications of our research include high-performance photonic devices, sensors, and filters. We develop such new materials by combining top-down lithography techniques and bottom-up self assembly methods.
We are also interested in developing new optical measurement techniques based on transmission electron microscopy (cathodoluminescence), to investigate the optical functions of materials. Such new "eyes" open the door to discoveries.
